Love Your Neighbor: A Study of Our Mission

Beginning on August 19, we will begin a brief, five-week series called “Love Your Neighbor.” This series will focus on some central aspects of our mission at IDC. We will cover issues like mercy and justice ministry, hospitality and evangelism, and adoption and orphan care.

On September 9, we will have our Imago Dei birthday party at the Falls Lake (blog coming later) to celebrate what God has done in our first year, and also to baptize several people. This event will be a great opportunity for you to bring your neighbor with you to enjoy a meal, hear the gospel, and experience the life of IDC.

Additionally, on Aug. 16, in light of our focus that Sunday, we will spotlight the work of our CJA team and pray for them as they help lead us to care for those in our community and abroad.

On September 16, we will hear a brief word from Chris Marlow about a ministry with which we are partnering: Help One Now. That particular Sunday, we will have opportunity to sponsor a child (more on this later).

Here is the sermon series plan:

August 19 – Hospitality and the Kingdom of God (Luke 14:12-24)

August 26 – Mercy Ministry (Luke 10:25-37)

September 2 – Three Ways to Live (Luke 15:1-2, 11-32)

September 9 – Imago Dei Birthday Party/Baptism Service

September 16 – Our Adoption in Christ (Romans 8:12-17)
