Safe Families for Children

Safe Families for Children surrounds families in crisis with caring, compassionate community by hosting vulnerable children and create extended family–like supports for desperate families through a community of devoted volunteers who are motivated by compassion to keep children safe and families intact.

Ways to Serve

IDC members can serve through Safe Families in the following ways:

Volunteer

  • As a Host Family that keeps children in your home for a short period of time
  • As a Family Friend that provide support to Families in need as well as host Families.
  • As a Resource Friend that thinks about the material goods or talents/skills you have that you could offer to Families in need.
  • As a Family Coach that serves as a case worker that assists Families in crisis and host Families.

Donate

  • Money — organizations like Safe Families need financial support to operate to the best of their ability.
  • Resources — as your children/grandchildren outgrow their clothes, toys, and other baby/toddler items donate them to Safe Families.
  • Meals — let Safe Families know that you want to be included on emails for when host Families need help with meals.

Pray

  • Pray for the Families in crisis, the children involved, the host Families and all other volunteers working behind the scenes; pray for God to continue to provide resources when needed to assist a family
